End of the second trimester!
This Wednesday, I'll be 28 weeks! I can't believe it...it really has gone by so fast. The past two weeks have been proven to be quite interesting...We ended up in the ER twice! The first time we found out that I have an "irritable uterus"...which causes frequent and uncomfortable cramping. The second time around, we discovered I had an infection. THEN, this past Tuesday we found out I failed my first glucose tolerance test, so that meant I had to take a three hour one. Let me tell you- NOT FUN. Still, Olivia looks perfectly healthy, so that's all we can ask for. Let's just hope that's the last of our visits to Labor and Delivery until it's actually time for her to be born!
But, in regards to the second glucose tolerance test...my fasting glucose level wasn't so good. I haven't actually received the results of the test yet, but my dad seemed pretty confident that gestational diabetes is imminent based on the results of the fasting score. At this point, I haven't thought about it all that much...my arms are too sore from having my blood drawn FOUR TIMES in FOUR HOURS. They look so awful and bruised. But, even if I do have gestational diabetes, it's most frequently corrected with diet...AND, I get to have frequent ultrasounds to see how big the baby is...something I never mind doing!
In other news, my dad and Walker painted Olivia's room this past weekend and they did an amazing job! It looks sooooo adorable and I can't wait to see it with her bedding and all the other decorations. I also can't wait for the baby shower! Chrystal showed me the invitations today and they're SO cute.
Pictures of the belly and latest decorations to come soon....
