Twenty Five and Half Weeks!
Walker and I really can't believe that the baby will be here in fourteen weeks or less! I've been kind of panicking...not about actually taking care of Olivia once she's here, but making sure that everything is ready. We haven't even begun to get the nursery ready, and that makes me nervous! But, I have to rely on Walker and my dad to paint the walls, which I see as the first thing we need to do...I don't think Olivia would appreciate the fumes very much.
The only thing we've actually purchased (or should I say this is what my parents have purchased for Olivia), is the crib. My mom and I went to Cribs n Cradles in Melbourne and we fell in love with this one..and it was for an incredible price! So, needless to say we purchased it on the spot. We had only gone in with the intention of looking around, but we ended up actually buying one!
The only other things going into Olivia's room are a twin bed, and a dresser/changer that was actually mine when I was a baby. Walker does NOT operate well on less than eight hours of sleep, so I thought we should put a twin bed in her room for me to sleep in during the week...
As for the decor of her room, the walls are going to be pink, and the bedding is white with green accents...so, light pink and light green it is! This is what we've picked out from Pottery Barn Kids, but in green, not pink..It's very simple but I love it...
Last week, I went in for another "just because" ultrasound with Dr. Elmer, and the baby was NOT cooperative. She wouldn't take her hands away from her face, and I so badly wanted to see what she looked like! She also had her head wedged against my bladder so Dr. Elmer said even if her hands weren't covering her face, we'd have a hard time getting a good picture...Still, it was reassuring to see that she is doing well and her measurements put her at about two pounds and in the 69th percentile...I was relieved to hear that she isn't gargantuan YET. Since Walker was almost a ten pound baby and I was eight pounds and four ounces, I'm afraid she'll be huge...but hey, maybe that will explain all this weight I've gained!! Here's the one picture we got of her face with her hands covering her eyes...
In other exciting news, my friend Chrystal Ronsisvalle is throwing a baby shower for me on December 6th! Chrystal was actually my baby sitter when I was little, and now we're good friends! She is such an awesome friend to me, and I'm so blessed that she's throwing me a shower! It's even more exciting that she has a four month old little girl...so our daughters will be very close in age..which is aweome! I'm so excited and I've been working on my baby registries...trying to figure out what I need and what I'll use. I never knew there were so many choices for EVERYTHING. For example, Consumer Report deems the Peg Perego car seat as the best in safety...but, the customer ratings on BabiesRUs are TERRIBLE for it. Some people that I actually know like it, and some others complain about how heavy it is. For $300 dollars, I feel like it should be the most amazing thing ever...so, I think I've decided to go with the Graco model for half the price. The particular pattern and model I picked out has the highest ratings on BabiesRUs too...Anyways, we're registered at PotteryBarnKids.com and BabiesRUs.com under Annie Dawson or Walker Dawson.
We'll put up new belly pictures soon...it's getting quite large and in the way! We're getting really excited!!!
